Rocking the Daisies Hip Hop Stage Announced
A Rocking the Daisies Hip Hop Stage was announced today and this makes the tally stages for #RTD2016 now 10 in total.
This is the first bit of big news surrounding the festival since news broke that they’d been bought out by Steyn Entertainment.
The Rocking the Daisies Hip Hop Stage will be powered by Pop Bottles Entertainment and this move sees the new owners recognising the growth that Hip Hop has enjoyed in recent years.
Did nobody tell Steyn Entertainment that Hip Hop is only big in Gauteng? Just kidding – if the #SAMAS22 Record of the Year nominations are anything to go by, Hip Hop is indeed massive in South Africa right now.
Pop Bottles have certainly made a name for themselves by consistently hosting quality hip hop events and were voted South Africa’s number 1 Hip Hop Experience at the 2014 & 2015 South African Hip Hop Awards.
The stage is titled Two’s Up, which they say ‘signifies the festival’s goals of providing a unique entertainment offering.’
The Rocking the Daisies Hip Hop Stage makes RTD the event with the most number of stages for any festival running in South Africa which they say attracts up to 25,000 people annually.
The Main Stage and the Electronic Dome will no doubt remain the two biggest attractions boasting quality international headliners but don’t forget the Beach Bar and Nu World Barn which both usually host international artists too.
Other stages include the We Love Summer and Tropical Roast Campus host the Electronic Campsite Stage and comedy, thankfully still has a place at the Lemon Tree Theatre.
Now in its 11th year, Rocking the Daisies Music and Lifestyle Festival takes place over four days from 6-9 October 2016 at the beautiful Cloof Wine Estate in Darling in the Western Cape. With over 200 acts, it’s one festival you sure don’t want to miss.
