Who’s who in the Eden Zoo this weekend at A State of Happiness
This weekend the Eden Experience kick off their first outdoor day party for the 2018/19 summer season at Zevenwacht Wine Estate.
Headlining the 12-hour day party is the brotherly duo of Sevenn, the guys responsible for that smash hit, BYOB with Alok, which has catapulted them into another league.
Zoe chatted to Sevenn ahead of this weekend.
Eden is without doubt one of the highlights of the outdoor party season and A State of Happiness certainly looks like it’ll live up to all expectations.
Lineup times were released yesterday. Here’s a brief rundown of what to expect from each DJ on the lineup (in order of appearance).
BOËT: 12h00-13h30
Cole Bisset DJs under the name of BOËT and he is the winner of our #EdenExperienceDJ competition this year. Cole entered last year too and came second so well done to him for persevering and trying again this year.

K-$: 13h30-15h00
‘K-$, the DJ-cum-internet-sensation-cum-cultural-figurehead, hails from Cape Town’s lively Southern Suburbs, but also from a quantum realm few can comprehend, and fewer yet have actually seen.’

Bronson & Roulette: 15h00-16h00
Bronson joins forces with Roulette in what’s fast becoming a massively popular pairing in and around the Cape town club scene.
Expect a healthy dose of funky, sleazy grooves from these purveyors of traditional house music.
Ambious Records Takeover: 16h00-17h15
Nick Supply, MKLY & Sides from Ambious Records will be taking over the stage for a quickfire B2B2B set (yes, that’s 3 DJs back2back).
Ambious is a collective of the three aforementioned DJs and they have eleven releases under their belt. It’s deep, it’s sexy and it’s groovy!
Leighton Moody & Cassiem Latief: 17h15-18h30
Leighton Moody & Cassiem Latief are true legends of the Cape Town house scene and they really need no introduction.
Leighton is one of the chief protagonists behind the We House Sundays events. He chatted to us ahead of his set at Eden in February this year. We’re glad to see he’s back for the next installment.
Cassiem is one of Cape Town’s most respected DJs and a co-founder of We House Sundays, having played alongside many of the top house DJs that have visited our shores over the years.
Apple Gule Live: 18h30-19h30
Hailing from Mbabane in Swaziland, Apple Gule is a Sony Music Africa artist. He recently featured on Kyle Watson’s ‘Solace’ and the singer/artist delivers a soulful R ‘n B Pop/house vibe and has some big radio hits under his belt.
Dane Stirrat: 19h30-20h45
Co-founder and driving creative force behind the music at The Eden Experience, Dane Stirrat is one of Cape Town’s busiest house DJs and for good reason; he knows how to rock a crowd.
We chatted to Dane about all things Eden a few weeks back.
Sevenn (BRA): 20h45-22h15
Sevenn’s edit of BYOB has been played at probably every club/event since its release, and the story of its inception is a classic tale of having fun- as music should be!
Eden revellers are in for a treat with this headlining duo. Don’t forget to read our interview with them.
D-Sciple: 22h15-23h00
D-Sciple is the progressive trance moniker for Dane Stirrat.
A man of many talents, Dane drops a mean progressive trance set and he will surely do the perfect crossover from Sevenn’s slamming house cuts into the closing set by Cape Town’s hugely popular prog psy artist, Headroom.
Headroom: 23h00-00h00
Headroom is SA’s busiest progressive trance DJ and is the go-to guy to close a multi-genre outdoor event such as Eden: A State of Happiness.
When you’re all ‘housed out’ and ready for a final ‘skop’ with massive builds and drops, Adam’ will close the deal!
Expect a good stompathon at the end.
