Denon DJ announce new Resolume integration with StagelinQ
Denon DJ just made a huge announcement for all the visuals techs, the industry standard, Resolume, software now supports StagelinQ.
Resolume have been at the forefront of VJing software for 17 years, they offer two versions of the iconic software, one geared towards most club users and a more professional version geared towards the big stage.
The latest update of the Resolume software adds integration for the Denon DJ StagelinQ protocol, giving VJs an insight into exactly what is happening in the DJ booth. The StagelinQ protocol feeds information live from the Denon DJ players and mixer, allowing the VJ to automate parameters or simply know what track is coming next. One example is the DJ can scratch the platter of the player, and the video will emulate the movement.
The protocol runs on Ethernet, meaning all the players connect to the mixer and then just one Ethernet cable allows all the data to be transmitted to the visuals crew. It also means that the system is plug-and-play – Resolume will automatically detect when Denon DJ StagelinQ compatible players are on the network.
Who will benefit most from the new integration?
The Denon DJ StagelinQ protocol will greatly benefit big touring DJs who have a visuals team and smaller DJs who make their own visual alike. The flexibility of the platform allows the visuals team to get live feedback and add their own artistic expression, or you can set up your entire visual performance and simple trigger the elements on the fly using the StagelinQ protocol.
Denon DJ have also recently announced that SoundSwitch is compatible with the StagelinQ protocol, allowing DJs to trigger and control lighting systems from the Denon DJ Prime Series of players and mixers.
We saw this coming when Denon DJ recently acquired SoundSwitch, we covered the story here.
