PreSonus Studio 24c USB-C Audio Interface – Product Spotlight
PreSonus recently released their new line of interfaces – the PreSonus Studio 24c is set to be a hit, here’s why…
The Run-Down
The PreSonus Studio 24c is part of the PreSonus new range of USB-C Audio Interfaces.
The range comes in various shapes and sizes designed for a multitude of applications.
Today we’re focusing on the Studio 24c because I’m pretty sure this is going to take the market by storm.
It takes on the incredibly popular Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, boasting almost the same specs across the board with the addition of MIDI in and out.
It’s about the same size, and only weighs 300 grams more than the Scarlett 2i2 making the new PreSonus Studio 24c a strong contender for professional quality at home or on-the-go .
Best Features
The PreSonus Studio 24c has incredibly handy input and output meters to monitor the volume of your channels, most of the competitors at this price range generally only offer you a clip LED making life a bit harder during setup time.
You’re able to tell that the input is at a nominal level, not only a notification once it’s too late. This makes it a great option for single-person setups where you may be recording your own vocals or in a streaming setup.
The PreSonus Studio 24c has two inputs and two outputs, both inputs are capable of line and mic levels as well as 48v phantom power for condenser microphones.
There’s also a headphone output with independent volume control, and MIDI I/O like I mentioned above.
The Studio 24c box comes with world-class recording software, in the shape of Studio One Artist, with the Studio Magic Plug-in Suite included.
Ideal Users
The PreSonus Studio 24c is a great option for beginners,
It’s got everything you need to record synths, guitars, vocals and more, and it comes with a wealth of software and plugins to get you started straight away.
It is compact and affordable – making it a great option for video editors who may be looking for a portable solution, or live performers who need a good quality output. The wealth of I/O and feedback from the meters makes it great for almost any application.
Final Thoughts…
As mentioned above, the PreSonus Studio 24c could very well take the market by storm as it has all the industry standard tech specs you would expect but at an incredibly competitive price point.
Set to retail at USD $199 (Around R 3,000 excl. duties) this puts it in direct competition with the some of the most popular home studio audio interfaces on the market.
