Upload your music to TikTok using Routenote
Upload your music to TikTok in four easy steps.
With over 1.5 billion downloads to date, the Vine-like app is taking the world by storm, outperforming Instagram. There are millions of active users around the globe creating and uploading their own short videos to the app to reach viral status.
And, as the app gains popularity, it presents a unique opportunity for up-and-coming artists to promote their music and gain exposure.
While the app has struck deals with major record labels, independent artists have to upload their own sound onto the database. And while a song could still go viral in this manner, a user’s personal sounds aren’t tied to the Apple Music API, which shares data to Apple if a song becomes viral.
But now there’s a way for musicians to distribute their music directly to the app.

Step 1: Sign up on Routenote for your music distribution account.
Step 2: Once you’ve created an account, head over to the Distribution > Create New Release menu option. Once you have filled out your release title, be sure to upload your Audio, Artwork (3,000 x 3,000 pixels), and Album Details.
Step 3: Next, click the Manage Stores section where you can choose to upload your song/album to all stores, or just to TikTok.
Step 4: Upon completion, you will have the option to pay the store delivery fee OR you can choose free delivery and split the revenue income with Routenote.
You are now officially distributing your music.
In other TikTok news, the app’s parent company ByteDance is looking to launch a new streaming service to rival Spotify and Apple Music as early as this month.
