Streaming platform Matter to pay artists more than Spotify
For this streaming platform, artists Matter.
In terms of importance regarding songs, artists are literally crucial. Without them, there would be no music. Artists need food and other necessities to live and create music, which is why it is of upmost importance that they get paid.
Sadly, this is not happening on a wide enough scale, with 79& of song revenue not even going to the musical wizards who created it.
Shocking statistics show that a mere 12% of a total $43 billion streaming earning in 2018 went to the creators and that artists would need 336,842 streams per month to make minimum wage in the US.
For the Taylor Swift’s and the Drake’s this isn’t a problem, however for the majority this presents a financial crisis.
Who’s to blame? Greedy streaming platforms like Spotify are to blame.
