Red Bull Music Academy turns 20 with alumni mix series incl. Black Coffee
The Red Bull Music Academy will celebrate its 20th anniversary in Berlin this September and October.
In preparation for the stunning event, Red Bull Radio has curated the RBMA20 Alumni Mix Series to reflect the transformative minds that were a part of the academy over the past two decades.
Each weekday, Red Bull Radio will premiere a mix featuring RBMA alumni, starting on the 30th of July with Russian techno star Nina Kraviz.
Other alumni featured on the series includes Canadian bass wizard and Kanye West collaborator Sinjin Hawke (31/07), as well as 20-year-old Swedish club music innovator Toxe (1/08), rising electronic heroine Marie Davidson (20/08), British low-end futurist Mumdance (13/08), and our very own Techno super star BLACK COFFEE (TODAY, 2/08 from 16:00-17:00).
Alumni on high
The series features 20 artists, hailing from 16 different countries and six continents each of whom attended the Academy at a pivotal point in their career, and then went on to SMASH IT!
Tune in to Red Bull Radio every weekday from 4-5pm CEST for the best new music, invigorating interviews and unique stories from the 20th anniversary Edition of RBMA at the historic Funkhaust studio complex in Berlin.
Out of the 61students of sound, two South Africans, Cornelius SA and Jakinda will join the RBMA in 2018 in Berlin.
South African alumni’s include Christian Tiger School, Jullian Gomes, Black Coffee and Culoe de Song; all of who have since made waves in the industry of dance music.
Happy 20th birthday, Red Bull Music Academy!
