Watch as Ameeth Shah is crowned Red Bull Music 3Style South African champion.
Last month we reported on 3Style hosting the SA National Championship at Durban’s Werehouse.
In the chronicles of Red Bull’s 3Style DJ Olympics, November 1 witnessed the battle between SA disc jockeys to see who has what it takes to represent our country at the World Finals in Taipei, Taiwan in January 2019.
The finalists competing were Gremlin and DJ Willy from Cape Town, DJ Sooshand DJ Shameless from Johannesburg and Ameeth Shah and DJ Eighty 6 from Durbs.
Although the competition was fierce, Ameeth Shah had the edge needed to win the South African National Finals.
Eye on the prize
Since last year’s event, Ameeth took the 3Style Championship as a challenge onto himself as a DJ. It led him on a journey of reinvention, self-discovery and a search for organic freshness within his passion.
“Things just got real. Really exciting and scary times ahead. The whole experience without competing is still one memorable and amazing get together of DJ culture and how we connect through the power of music,” Shah said.
“One has to tap much deeper into your soul to try and tell your story through music. Thank you to my DJ Homies who helped me with pieces of the puzzle and all their creative input, “Shah said.
