[VIDEO] Maceo Plex plays 10 DJ sets in 24hrs in Ibiza
Maceo Plex played ten DJ sets in twenty four hours as he attempted to break a world record.
Last month Maceo Plex , real name Eric Estornel, set out to make history across the island of Ibiza. The shot he took to break some DJ record all formed part of his Mosaic by Maceo residency.
He wanted to be known as the DJ who played the most sets during a twenty four period of time. You can check out the video to get a glimpse into Maceo’s experience.
During the video he talks about the reasons why he took on the task of trying to break the record. He also shares anecdotes of his experiences at various locations and he also sheds light upon what he hopes to gain from the record breaking attempt.
Records are there to be broken (not vinyl)
Previously we reported on the Nigerian DJ, Obi who played the longest set ever.
This record is slightly different with having the most sets played within in a certain time frame. He reflected on the impact of his attempt and confirms that he is looking to challenge himself a little more…
“In my immediate future, as well as in the distant future, I want to do more things that kind break me out of the formula, day-to-day, music-making type of routine.” He said
Wherever he played throughout his attempt, he made an effort to play music that characterized the spot. He noted that by taking on this endeavour he was able to connect with the people and the music of the famous island.
“I did my best to capture the places that I was at, but I feel like I can learn a lot more from the island. Es Vedra was emotional, because something about that big rock and the view was incredible.” said Maceo Plex
