Elon Musk says soon you will be able to stream music inside your head
Elon Musk says that his startup, Neuralink, he co-founded in 2016, will soon have a brain implant chip that will be able to stream music inside your head.
An update on how this computer-brain interface will work and its progress will be made on August 28.
As reported by TechCrunch, although the startup’s initial purpose was to assist people with disorders such as OCD, depression and anxiety, their ultimate aim is to be able to upgrade humans so that we can keep pace with artificial intelligence.
‘Successful tests’ were performed on mice and apes.
Musk has often said that the “lossy” process of translating thought to input via conventional means including keyboard and mouse is outdated.
He believes that a tighter, more high-fidelity bond between people and computers can help decrease the risk that advanced AI surpasses the capabilities of human intelligence.
He says he is also stated that uncontrolled, unregulated advanced general artificial intelligence poses an existential risk to humanity, but that Neuralink, his company, intends to be a means of protection against that threat.
