Artificial Intelligence presents the hit new record, I AM AI.
No, this is not an excerpt from some new Sci-fi musical movie; this is the future staring us right in the face.
Internet sensation Taryn Southern and Amper software collaborate to bring you I AM AI, the first album completely crafted- composed and produced- by AI.
The idea of using AI to create music is no new feat. AI has been used to assist musicians in the production of melodies, arrangements and instrumentation which they can then harness with their own human intuition and build tracks with.
In fact, rival software Flowmachines previously fashioned a stand-alone Beatles-style pop tune, titled “Daddy’s Car.”
But I AM AI takes it to whole new levels as all chords, production, everything barring the lyrics and vocals, are generated by AI.
All the artist needs to do is give it (AI) an initial direction towards a desired style and an overall rhythm and it does all the rest.

So what does this mean for human producers? Are we hurling towards a time where human skills will be redundant? Will the ‘machine’ take away the one thing we thought we had a grip on- creativity?
Co-creator of Amper, Drew Silverstein stated to TechCrunch that among one of the core beliefs of the company is that “the future of music is going to be created in the collaboration between humans and AI”.
Well Bob’s your uncle then as that core belief has manifested in a pop album featuring an internet sensation.
What does this mean regarding royalties? And the course of music production in general?
