REZFEST 2016 is almost upon us!

Another year has gone by, and as it comes to an end one looks back with reflection on what was learnt and experienced. I personally had a crazy start to 2016 with the most amazing adventure in Brazil which has changed my life for the better.

I met some amazing people who inspire me and have grown to love. My Euro Trip was truly amazing too and I can’t wait to go back. I feel I can go into the New Year with positive goals to achieve and more adventures to have.

REZFEST 2016

One thing about this time of the year that I get really excited about is the annual Rezonance New Year’s Eve Festival. REZFEST 2016 will be 4 days of fun in the sun at a brand new venue which looks absolutely amazing.

I really enjoy the long festivals, because it gives you a chance to spend time with friends, meet new people, and really get into the experience, and live in the festival world for more than 24 hours, camp (in my case Glamp) in the wilderness and be one with nature.

I remember playing at the first Rezonance festival back in 2007 in Theerwaterskloof, tucked away in a pine forest next to a river surrounded by a mountain range; I miss that venue. For several years Rezonance made its home closer to Cape Town at Contermans Kloof in Durbanville.

It was convenient to be so close, but not necessarily a good thing. But the REZFEST 2016 team have something new up their sleeve, and will take a little more of a mission to get there on our part, but totally worth it.

Deep in the mountain range in Robertson is where we are going to be spending 4 days of absolute fun. I did a little Google search of the venue area and it looks magical; I am super excited to be spending some time in this area. One feels so recharged after being amongst nature, the photographs alone are making me super excited for this New Year’s adventure.

Change

I spoke about change in my previous blog, and I was just reminiscing about REZFEST and how it’s grown and evolved over the years, and I have to say that each year is different and in my opinion has its own special energy.

I missed out on last year’s fest, but I heard it was epic as usual. One thing I can say, is that the REZFEST team always deliver on creating an awesome event giving us 4 days of entertainment. The amount of work that goes into logistics, the décor, lighting and stage, plus the most important aspect (in my opinion), the artist lineup, it is designed to transcend you into new levels and inspire new thoughts and dreams which manifest in your dancing state.

Playing a REZFEST is always such a highlight for me; the size of the stage and sound system is always massive and it’s really scary at first; I remember having little mini panic attacks before a set, but now you can’t keep me off the stage. Every year is always a killer experience and it is a highly sought out gig by many local and international artists.

Since the beginning REZFEST has aimed to offer Cape Town some of the world’s finest musicians, DJs and producers for our listening and dancing pleasure.

This year’s line-up maintains their high standard, jam packed with nonstop music to keep us occupied for days. Let’s also not forget the stellar local DJs and producers.

I’m pretty excited to see the internationals play. I recently saw Dickster and Virtual Light perform live while I was in Europe and I can assure you that you won’t be disappointed. These guys both know how to warp the mind and send you on a psychedelic journey of note!
