It’s not just a gimmick; apart from the “Prayer for peace” installment at 02:00 on the Sunday morning, Earthdance CPT is a charity event that supports the Earth Child Project, and is part of a global Earthdance singing the same tune.
The standard of production as well as the line-up always makes Earthdance Cape Town a party not to miss. There’s just something magical about it.
How can one squeeze the mirth out of this 2-day festival extravaganza?

1. Come prepared.
A toothbrush and WET WIPES will give you a clean slate and have you rivaling the freshness of the Sunday jollers.”
As unique individuals, we all have our own ideas of preparation; from sleeping in the car, to a full camp set up, and even those wildlings who never sleep- preparation is key, no matter your preference.
Make a list to ensure that you will have everything you need to have a stress-free and comfy weekend.
It’s wise to pack layers of clothes to combat our erratic CT weather, especially during this transition period between winter and spring.

With that being said, I personally have found that sleeping, even for a few hours, as well as eating some proper food does wonders for your Sunday stamina and overall energy levels in a very real way.
It may be hard, but you will find a time when the lineup will allow a few hours rest, even if it is just a body rest.
2. Make connections
Take the time to meet and connect with new people
There’s nothing better than ‘losing’ your friends, only to stumble upon epic humans that could potentially become lifelong friends.
When you realize that most people at the party have a similar mindset to you and your friends, there are endless opportunities for connecting and ‘making the circle bigger.’
3. Thank the crew and get to know them.

Behind every production stands a dedicated and hard-working crew. No aspect of a party just appears out of thin air- it is the product of tireless work and dedication.
Take time to thank them, maybe give them some water or a snack or even just a hug.

4. Be street wise
This is something that can’t be said enough.
If you love something, leave it at home. As sad as that may be, it is a reality. Leaving expensive items in your tent leads to the option of theft so rather avoid that possibility by either locking it in your car or leaving it at home.
It must also be said that theft is actually less of a problem than simply losing stuff. You’re going to be having fun, losing yourself to the music and the vibe; rather that than losing stuff you find hard to replace.
5. Know your limits
In a party atmosphere inhibitions fly, but there is nothing worse than spending your party at the medic tent.
Fair enough, accidents happen; but be wise and know your limits and look after yourself. Look after others to should the need arise!!!
