Roland Aira Video series with Protoculture
We first asked Goldfish to play with them. Then Craig De Sousa and Erefaan Pearce didn’t want to give them back after they really got stuck into the production side of using the TR-8 and TB-3. Thereafter it was Mr Sakitumi, the Cape Town musician and producer extraordinaire’s chance to take us through his first impressions of the new Roland Aira TR-8 and TB-3.
But aside from Acid house music in the late 80’s which Craig and Erefaan so aptly illustrated during their jam, trance music also has a strong affinity to the TB303 bassline on which the TB-3 is based. So who better to check them out than one of South Africa’s proudest trance music exports, Protoculture who is about to release his brand new and highly anticipated album on Armin Van Buuren’s label, Armada Music.
