These Zungle sunglasses use your bone structure to transmit music
The Zungle concept is one of Kickstarter’s most successful campaigns.
They have amassed more than one million dollars from their backers. People are excited at the prospect of wearing trendy shades that also have the technology of wireless headphones.
The Zungle technology uses bone conduction to discreetly play music just for you. Bone conduction technology has been around for years as a tool to assist people with hearing loss. One of the most famous users of bone conduction was Beethoven.
Zungle has incorporated this technology into these stylish sunglasses with replaceable lenses.
How it works
With the help of the bones in your face, these sunglasses will send vibrations through your bones. When this happens the sound waves will bypass your outer and middle ear and head straight to your inner, stimulating it with the music.
Zungle can connect to your Smartphone using Bluetooth. This will enable music playback that you can control using a dial on your right ear.
Theses nifty Zungle shades have a 300 milliamp-hour (mAh) battery that lasts up to four hours. It also has a built-in microphone so you can answer phone calls too.
When you need to recharge your head phone shades, you clip off one of the arms to access a micro USB port on the edge of the lenses.
The following is an update on the Zungle Kickstarter page…
“We have already built the prototype and the testing was completed successfully as well. To facilitate mass production we are currently simplifying our design and assembly processes. Manufacturing will be solely based in Korea for quality control of the product despite the cost increase. The designs of the cases, packages, accessories are yet to be decided. We will share with our backers as soon as it is confirmed.”
