Z-Jay a foldable DJ controller you can wear on your back
The Z-Jay is a new concept DJ controller that you will be able to wear like a back pack. It features three interconnected tablet and folds out to reveal a device that has three touch screen surfaces.
The surfaces mimic a – two decks and mixer set up. While you can’t go out and buy one for yourself right now, the product developers will soon be setting up a crowdfunding page in order to pursue production.
The Z-Jay will have a customisable graphic interface for each of the three tablets and you will be able to mix up to eight songs at the same time.
It’s not yet clear whether you will be able to download tracks songs to it, but you will be able to upload tracks to your Z-Jay.
Customizable GUI
The Graphic User interface of the Z-Jay can be fully customized according to your preferences, each of Z-JAY decks can be easily divided into two, three and four decks using the same mixer. The user interface resembles standard DJ equipment (mixer and decks). This makes it familiar and easy to use.
In one integrated system the Z-Jay will allow you to mix songs by combining all the necessary DJ equipment. You can easily pack up and travel with your complete DJ kit, no heavy lugging needed.
The idea for this product arose after the developers experienced “discomfort over long and direct experimentation with mixing songs on a tablet”.
Where present DJ apps for tablets are useful, they lack usability. The tablet screen is already compact in size and has to be divided into three sections i.e. two deck units and the mixer unit.
The foldable DJ controller has been designed to fix that problem while keeping the versatility of the tablet to add more comfort for the user.
