Yamaha DZR Series loudspeakers – the new professional flagship
The new Yamaha DZR Series are one of the latest additions to the new Yamaha line-up of flagship loudspeakers.
The new Yamaha DZR Series is made up six different models, four loudspeaker options and two “DXS-XLF” sub-woofers. The range employs DSP technology to maintain clarity through the advanced built-in cabinet tuning system. Each of the Yamaha DZR speakers feature a 2000w amplifier and integrated compact mixer, able to handle signals directly from a microphone or instrument, or line-levels from a console.
Yamaha have also announced that the DZR series will see further additions in the future, in the shape of DZR loudspeakers that are equipped with Yamaha’s Dante audio networking technology. The Dante equipped Yamaha DZR speakers will also feature the integrated mixer, making them ideal in any installation environment where flexibility is important.
The Yamaha DZR Series loudspeakers come in 10”, 12”, 15” and 3-way 15” models, and the DXS-XLF sub-woofers come in a 15” and 18” version. They range from USD $1725 to $2400 (Around R27k to R38k excl. duties), keep in mind they’re built for professional installation and touring applications, so they’re bound to come with a considerable price-tag.
Are their passive options in the new Yamaha line-up?
Alongside the new Yamaha DZR Series, comes the launch of a new line of passive loudspeakers, the CZR Series. It features models in much the same configurations, minus the 3-way 15” version and passive of course. They range from USD $1050 to $1350 (Around R17k to R21k excl. duties).
The new Yamaha DZR Series and passive CZR series are all built with ultra-durable 15mm plywood, then coated in a military-grade finish in order to withstand the pressures of touring and high-end applications.
“Our long experience with acoustics, electronics and state of the art networking has produced a speaker lineup only Yamaha could develop, these new speakers sound incredibly natural and clean, even at very high output levels.” said John Schauer, senior technical specialist, Yamaha Pro Audio.
