Universal Audio Arrow, UAD’s high-end, yet affordable interface solution
Legendary interface manufacturers, Universal Audio, ventures into unchartered territory with their new affordable Thunderbolt 3 interface, the Universal Audio Arrow.
Owning a Universal Audio interface is a dream that many of us music creators share, the synergy between their high-end hardware and realistic software emulations brings the “big studio” sound to your bedroom studio or small project workspace.
Their range of “UAD powered” plug-ins use the DSP processor on the interface to handle the load, this means you are able to get equal sonic quality and performance on a small laptop in your home, right up to the powerful rig in a recording studio.
Universal Audio offers a new, cost-effective solution for music creators who are looking to get into the world of UAD plugins and their hardware counterparts.
The Arrow is a fraction of the price of their previous models, without forfeiting quality and performance. It features two of Universal Audio’s world-renowned “Unison” preamps and one SHARC DSP Processor to handle the “UAD powered” plugins.
The Universal Audio Arrow is equipped with UAD’s SOLO Accelerator which can handle up to 14 instances of my favourite EQ emulation, Pultec EQP-1A, or 5 instances of the Ampex ATR-102, a legendary Tape emulation.
Okay, enough of the technical stuff! Why is it so awesome?
The small form factor alongside huge sound and performance, make the Arrow the perfect interface for live musicians, travelling producers/DJs and recording engineers on the road. Universal Audio’s new interface is their first to be equipped with Thunderbolt 3, that means it’s capable of lower latency than before at the same high-resolution that the manufacturers have become famous for.
The Universal Audio Arrow comes with a bundle of their most popular plugins, including emulations of the legendary UA1172’s compressors and Marshall Plexi Classic Amplifier, so you can hit the ground running.

- Thunderbolt 3 connectivity – Bus powered
