Unfiltered Audio LION set to be the apex of synthesizers
The brand-new Unfiltered Audio LION synthesizer is out, with a modular approach to routing and vast oscillator mixing algorithms.
Unfiltered Audio LION prides itself on the massive selection of Oscillator types and mixing algorithms, the synthesizer features all of the traditional synthesis methods that you would expect these days, with a host of totally unique modes.
The synth features Subtractive, Additive, FM modes, alongside some more experimental stuff like “super” oscillator stacks, microsound, noise and variations on each one. Each oscillator mode features a selectable Stereo Mode which opens up wide stereo capabilities at the synthesis level.
The oscillator mixing module in Unfiltered Audio’s new synthesizer is also truly unique, it features several distinct mixing methods, never seen before in a synthesizer.
The default algorithm acts as a traditional crossfader, while Bitter mode applies bitwise operations to the signals, Ash is similar to a sample and hold process and Terrain maps a series of wave-terrains and uses the inputs to navigate and spit out a signal. Compare, Ring-Mod and Min-Max are a little bit more self-explanatory.

As if the generator section was not vast enough, to top it off Unfiltered Audio LION features over 40 BYOME-style effects for incredible versatility.
For those who don’t know, BYOME is Unfiltered Audio’s highly revered effects engine, hailed as one of “the most innovative plugins” by sound-design great, Richard Devine. Each of the effects processors is fully-modulatable, and they all work on a per-voice level, offering you insane polyphonic capabilities.
The filter module features 15 different filter types, including everything from traditional LP, HP and BP to models of Moog, 303 and Korg MS-style filters.
Unfiltered Audio LION is available once-off from distribution partner Plugin Alliance for an introductory price of USD $169.00 (Around R 2,550) up until September 30, 2019,and USD $199.00 (Around R3000) thereafter. It’s also included in Plugin Alliance’s new MEGA Bundle.
