TRAKTOR PRO 2.11 update delivers Ableton Link and Step Sequencer
Native Instruments have just released TRAKTOR PRO 2.11 and it is a FREE update to existing Traktor owners.
It’s a pretty significant update too with no less than three massive enhancements announced.
The first of these is Ableton LINK integration and this is HUGE for laptop DJs who want to play back 2 back, but more significantly for live duos who can now perform with dual laptops and jam together in sync.
The there’s a the brand new Step Sequencer which makes use of the REMIX Decks to create a new GUI for step sequence programming of loops. This is obviously in direct response to the recently announced Roland DJ-808 which has a built-in TR-S drum machine and uses Serato DJ.
While the TRAKTOR PRO 2.11 Step Sequencer could not purport to quite being an 808 or 909 it’ll surely please Traktor users as it certainly makes the Kontrol D2 or Kontrol S8 even more of a creative performance tool now. Notably the F1 can also be used with the new Step Sequencer and it also MIDI mappable to any 3rd party device.
TRAKTOR PRO 2.11 integrates seamlessly with the Pioneer Nexus range which is also huge since this is the standard gear you’ll find at most clubs and festivals. HD integration includes a simple plug and play setup for the CDJ-2000 NXS2 and direct Timecode (DVS) link to the Pioneer DJ DJM-900.
