Traktor 3.2.1 update brings macOS Catalina compatibility and more
Native Instruments announce the Traktor 3.2.1 update which brings compatibility with macOS Catalina alongside various fixes and improvements.
Native Instruments recently launched their new Traktor Kontrol S3 controller, so of course, the new Traktor 3.2.1 update adds Kontrol S3 integration, and improvements to how the Kontrol S4 MK3 works alongside the software platform.
They have made it impossible to accidentally switch to EXT while that track is playing – to avoid sudden drop-out in the music. “Relative tempo mode” also works like it used to on the S4 MK2
The new Traktor 3.2.1 update also adds improved handling of musical key, improving how the key highlighting feature works.
Most of these are pretty minor features, however, considering the news we heard recently of the lay-offs at Native Instruments – it’s good to know that things are still happening there.
The macOS Catalina issue…
Another huge feature in the Native Instruments Traktor 3.2.1 update is compatibility with Apple’s new macOS Catalina, however, it’s not working seamlessly with the Music app just yet.
Thankfully Apple have added the ability to export your library as an XML file within the Music app, there is a walkthrough on how to do that at the Traktor forums, check that out here.
This is the “old” way of getting music libraries into Traktor, however, there were a few issues before that seem to have been ironed out. Folders import alphabetically and support non-unicode characters.
Despite the news of lay-offs and big changes at the Native Instruments headquarters, it seems that Traktor will remain a separate entity to the rest of the “One Native” platform – that’s good news.
