touchAble Pro – the flagship touch control system gets a revamp
touchAble Pro adds a host of exciting new additions to the already world-renowned touch control system for Ableton Live.
Berlin-based software developers, Zerodebug, just announced the latest iteration of the touchAble system. The new, redesigned touchAble Pro app has been rewritten to support iOS, Android and Windows touch devices, whereas the previous version just supported iOS. The touchAble pro app makes use of Ableton’s advanced API’s to interact with the software in ways that most third-party controllers could only dream of. From the ability to customize your own unique layouts, to making use of waveform and filter curve displays.
The new advanced API integration within touchAble Pro allows you to edit MIDI clips with a redesigned piano-roll view, sample/audio clip manipulation with real time waveform display and even edit automation within clips, directly from your mobile device.
Being able to create a variety of unique layouts means you can have separate layouts for production and live performance for example, one being tuned to manipulating sounds, editing and arrangement, while the other layout focuses more on triggers and playing the sounds. This makes navigating what might be a complex Ableton Live project a breeze on stage.
When and how much?
The introduction of touchAble Pro to platforms other than iOS is a huge move, not only will it open the floodgates for users from all platforms, it means that as a user we have the choice of using a variety of different devices, we’re not limited to the form-factor of iOS devices. Imagine your own custom performance layout on a massive 50” touch panel! Goals…
touchAble Pro is compatible with Ableton Live 9 and 10, and we’re expecting a launch price of USD $29.99 (Around R500) and we’re expecting the app to go live around September 2018.
