Vestax returns as STP Vestax with new mixer
The new STP Vestax mixer is the first product to be released by the recently rebranded Vestax brand. The new product is a four channel analog mixer known as the Phoenix.
The company has published both the prototype and design pictures of the new mixer which is scheduled for sale this coming May.
Other than what the images portray there is little other information to go on. The pictures show a retro design with classic analog VU meters for each of the four channels and the master output.
The mixer doesn’t look like it has channel filters, instead it has isolator controls on each channel and the master output. DJ Tech Tools noted that it looks as if STP Vestax founder Hidesato Shiino has used the Vestax PMC-CX as a reference point.
The new STP Vestax mixer is the first product to be officially launched since it was announced that the company would be re-launched.
Vestax was declared bankrupt back in 2014 due to what is being called a drop in product quality and poor management.
According to Shiino, the new company is functioning on more of a boutique operation than it was previously. Products will be released in limited runs of ten to twenty per month, also if you would like to get your hands on the new STP Vestax this May then you would have to get it directly from their website.
STP Vestax is also planning on releasing a new turntable and pre-amp. They will however be facing competition from Technics, which returns with a new version of its iconic SL-1200 turntable later this year.
Shiino shared the following in a press statement:
“There are very few mixers that have been released in the market recently that are designed from-the-ground-up. I have deviated from the usual way of thinking in the industry, with its cost-cutting and resulting performance-degradation.”
