Steinberg Cubase 10 just launched with a host of new features!

Steinberg Cubase 10 is out, and it introduces a variety of new features from redesigned interface to brand new plugins.

It seems that the biggest focus in the new Steinberg Cubase 10 is workflow, they’ve introduced a load of new features such as new ways to add tracks, from the drag-and-drop of plugins to quick-menus for adding any type of track. Steinberg Cubase 10 sees some improvement in the channel strips, you can now freely change the order of built-in channel plugins or recall entire MixConsole snapshots, almost like mixer presets!

Steinberg have hugely improved the way that Cubase deals with side-chaining, you no longer have to set up tricky channel routings, you can select inputs directly on the plugin. Steinberg Cubase 10 sees a revamp to the “VariAudio” system for fine-tuning vocal takes, alongside a new automatic audio alignment tool – which is going to be a lifesaver for syncing up multiple vocal dubs.

Steinberg Cubase 10 sees huge performance improvements, an updated audio engine that supports up to 64-bit audio. Steinberg have also improved the support for high DPI screens such as 4k or retina.

Virtual Reality is the next big step in media technologies, from immersive gaming experiences to 3D movies, we are at the brink of VR becoming somewhat of an industry standard. Steinberg Cubase 10 introduces a new Virtual Reality production suite which brings the world of immersive media and audio engineering together. The new VR production suite adds a host of plugins, ambisonics bus settings, panning devices and even a system to connect a VR headset into your DAW to track the movement.

Steinberg Cubase 10 sees a redesigned Groove Agent SE, this is one of my personal favourite virtual drum workstations so I’m super keen to see a revamp here. Alongside the new Groove Agent SE 5, is a host of new plugins and redesigned functionality and interfaces for a large variety of already existing plugins.
