The new Steinberg Cubase 10.5 update is here – what’s new?
The new Steinberg Cubase 10.5 update introduces several new instruments, effects and workflow improvements.
Celebrating 30 years in development, Steinberg Cubase gets another update introducing several new features, from instruments and effects to MIDI editing tools and workflow improvements. One of the biggest new additions to the already very capable DAW is a revised system of dealing with importing tracks from another Cubase project, with several automatic features for arranging the imported tracks according to their names.
Another huge feature in the latest Cubase update is the new Padshop 2 synthesizer, based on granular and spectral synthesis technology – loaded with over 570 presets and allowing you to load samples for resynthesis.
MultiTap Delay is a creative new delay processor that comes with both the Pro and Artist updates, with several presets and unique parameters to create everything from traditional echoes to experimental soundscapes.
Something for the Pros…
The new Steinberg Cubase 10.5 update introduces Spectral Comparison EQ to Cubase Pro edition, it’s a new mode within Channel EQ that allows you to compare the spectral makeup of several audio signals and adjust them within a single interface.
Steinberg’s Senior Marketing Manager for Cubase, Matthias Quellmann, commented: “With this point five update we put a strong focus on improving the entire workflow and expanding the creative toolset based on the feedback of our global user community. You get many new, very useful features across all three editions, and at the same time, you also get an array of improvements to existing features, making the overall experience with Cubase even more streamlined, more enjoyable, simply the best possible we think you can get from a DAW.”
One thing to note, Steinberg does charge for their .5 updates – there are various upgrade options, depending on your current setup.
