SPLICE Sounds – A sample library subscription service
SPLICE is a cloud based music collaboration platform and back in June of this year they announced something called SPLICE Sounds, a subscription service that gives users access to over 2,000 sample packs from top companies such as Loopmasters, XFER and more.
What’s cool about SPLICE Sounds is that you can preview samples first and then choose just the individual ones you want and download these.
Anybody who has bought sample packs before will attest to the fact that there are always only a handful of sounds on most that you will truly use and will fit what you’re producing, unless of course you’re just whipping in a whole bunch of straight up loops and calling that your own production…
With over 700,000 plus samples to choose from, you can search by key, genre, BPM and several other tags, preview them and then simply drag the ones you like into your own library.
SPLICE Sounds is live and running and it’s interesting how they’ve done the subscription. You monthly fee is not unlimited, i.e. the two-tier pricing will give allow you either 100 or 300 downloads, but if you think about it and if you select carefully, that’s a lot of new individual samples every month.
The service comes with two tiers: $7.99/100 credits (downloads) per month or $13.99/300 credits per month. Check it out on Splice.
SPLICE Sounds is not limited just to samples either.
They’ve just announced a new feature – Synth Presets which includes sounds for top synths such as Massive, Sylenth, Serum, and Spire. This feature works really well since you can not only preview a synth sound before buying it, Splice showcases different variations such as various octaves, mono or polyphonic playback etc.
You can sign up for a 14-day FREE trial period to check SPLICE Sounds out before committing and for producers who are busy all the time it sounds like a pretty good deal.
