Spitfire LABS Drums – an easy-to-use and authentic drum plugin
Spitfire LABS Drums packs an absolutely mind-blowing level of authenticity into an artfully simple acoustic drum plugin.
Spitfire Audio made their name creating high-quality sample libraries and virtual instruments, their focus is on capturing the nuances of the real instrument using the best microphones and studios at their disposal. Their new range of plugins, named LABS (an acronym for Let’s All Become Something), is a collection of incredibly easy-to-use plugins offering the same level of sonic accuracy that Spitfire Audio is known for. They first launched the series with two plugins, Soft Piano and Strings – now they’re back with Spitfire LABS Drums.
The new Spitfire LABS Drums is made up of a collection of curated multi-samples of drummer Ollie Waton, recorded by Stanley Gabriel(Previously at Abbey Road Studios). The core focus was to capture the nuances of live acoustic drums, using various techniques such as round-robin sampling and independent room mic sampling. It’s all packaged within an intuitive interface, hosting only three parameters – the “secret sauce” for quick and easy acoustic drums.
How do I download Spitfire LABS Drums?
Firstly, you’ll need to head over to their website and download the Spitfire Audio desktop application. Most people are hesitant to install third-party applications for free software for various reasons, however you have nothing to worry about here, the app is merely for downloading all the relevant files to the correct locations. It won’t bombard you with newsletters and adverts.
Whether you’re making electronic music or more traditional compositions, acoustic drums can be a key element – even just to “liven” up a flat sounding electronic drum beat. The round-robin sampling technique allows every trigger to sound-off ever so slightly differently, giving you that extra humanization that could help your rhythm section really stand out!
The absolute best part about Spitfire LABS Drums is, like I mentioned with the other LABS plugins, it’s FREE!
So, head over to the Spitfire Audio website and grab it!
