Sonic Faction Probability Pack – a new bundle of Max4Live devices
Sonic Faction Probability Pack is a free bundle for Ableton Live 10 Suite users, which offers intuitive ways of inspiration.
Sonic Faction Probability Pack is made up of five Max4Live devices – Step Divider is a unique step sequencer with individual step probability control. The device offers polyphonic rate and division controls to quickly transform loops and musical phrases into polyrhythmic sequences.
The Melodic Probability device allows you to create evolving chords and melody lines on-the-fly, quantize random values to a scale or create complex melodies and slowly fade in elements using the probability control. The Rhythmic Probability device works on the same concept to the first two devices, just geared towards rhythms and patterns.
Modular synth style generative patching for a DAW?
The Probability Arp is a very cool device, it allow you to create arpeggios with varying complexity and time signatures based on chance. You can choose the probability of octave shifts or chord triggers. Furthermore, there’s a bank of sliders to set the probability range of parameters like Note Length, Rate and Style. This is great for creating “Generative Patches” or musical pieces or soundscapes based on chance and probability logic.
“Dr. Chaos” is pretty tough to describe, however the developers call it “a neural network that strings together notes and generates melodies in unpredictable ways.”
Another great tool for generative music creation.
Sonic Faction Probability Pack also comes with 60 Ableton synth preset designed to work alongside the intuitive new bundle. Ableton Push users will also be glad to hear that the Sonic Faction Probability Pack is designed to work fluidly with the Push controller, with visual feedback amongst other features.
Like we mentioned the Sonic Faction Probability Pack is FREE for Ableton Live 10 Suite users, you can download the bundle from within your DAW in the browser section.
