Serato Studio DAW for DJs has arrived
Serato Studio DAW is designed to be user-friendly for DJs and newcomers to music production.
We recently covered the announcement of Serato’s first ever DAW and it’s been in Beta testing for a few months, however the launch is now officially here.
Serato Studio DAW is a streamlined music production application that is designed to mimic a DJ environment, offering DJs a great entry-point into the world of beat-making and music production.
A lot of DJs getting into music production struggle to wrap their heads around the new world of parameters and information, however a large amount of the features within Serato Studio are set to make life a lot easier.
The channel mixer is similar to the layout you would see in most DJ software and setups, and there’s an automatic “Make Beat” feature that allows you to quickly generate a drum beat in the genre and style of your choice.
Serato Studio automatically syncs your elements to your project’s key and tempo, to make sure that your elements will always fit together – it’s based on Serato’s advanced “Pitch & Time” time-stretching algorithms.
There’s also a Master-deck waveform display for a real time waveform readout.
Made to be easy-to-use for almost anyone…
One of the best aspects of Serato Studio is that there is almost no need to spend time learning the system and reading manuals, if you’re familiar with Serato software or hardware it will be a breeze to adapt to Serato Studio.
It works well with Serato DJ compatible controllers from Pioneer, Roland, Numark and other standard MIDI controllers and drum pads.
Serato Studio is compatible with third-party VST and AU plugins, allowing you to expand your library as you need to. The subscription service also opens up monthly soundpacks from renowned sound designers.
Currently the Serato Studio DAW is only available as a subscription and the service will cost you USD $14.99 (Around R220) per month or USD $9.99 (Around R150) per month – billed annually.
