Serato DJ becomes Serato DJ Pro, with some essential updates
Serato DJ Pro introduces a host of new features, the most anticipated of which being their new Practice Mode.
Practice Mode essentially allows the user to mix without connecting any hardware. Previously Serato DJ relied on Serato compatible hardware to unlock a large portion of essential features in the software.
This made preparing and making changes to your set a pain on the butt for DJs who are constantly on-the-go.
Serato DJ Pro’s Practice Mode now unlocks two track decks aside a basic crossfader, which allows you to test transitions anywhere – on a plane, train or bus. Serato have also added control over cue-points, allowing you to setup, rename and colour code your cues at a moment’s notice. An array of keyboard shortcuts makes the entire practice and setup process much easier.
Serato DJ Pro also introduces a host of graphic updates, most notably a new scalable interface that has been optimized for high-def displays.
This makes seeing your display on a small screen or in poor lighting conditions much easier.
Serato have also introduced Serato Video to the upgrade alongside a number of customization settings for the user interface, overall – improving the entire visual experience.
Some much needed performance improvements have been introduced
Serato DJ Pro now boasts 64-bit CPU support, increasing overall performance and reliability, two very important factors for digital DJs.
The performance upgrade also gives the software the essential boost it needed to overcome the issue with track library sizes; users will be pleased to hear that libraries no longer have a maximum size!
Serato DJ Pro now allows you to expand your effects with all-new Izotope powered effects packs, for adding unique flavour to your sets.
Serato have also introduced a new Help & Support system into Serato DJ Pro, giving you access to tutorials and contact with the support team from within the software.
An array of tooltips and shortcut keys also make workflow much more fluid.
