Sensi M is a futuristic, stick-anywhere Bluetooth MIDI Controller

July 10, 2018 By IDM Reports

Sensi M is a futuristic, stick-anywhere Bluetooth MIDI Controller

The Sensi M is a modular system of wireless Bluetooth MIDI Controllers, able to attach to almost any surface.

At this point, the Sensi M is still in its early prototyping stages however the concept and features are undoubtedly worth the mention. The makers have announced the first two “modules” in the Sensi M system – the Atom Pressure which looks like it takes the form of a pressure-sensitive X/Y pad and the Atom Turn which is a simple module comprised of a single control knob.

The coolest part about the Sensi M system, is that the pieces all snap together – giving you the ability to create your own unique MIDI controller layouts or mount the controls onto any surface like a guitar or another synth/keyboard to add extra parameters to your performance.

You’re probably thinking “this is not an entirely new concept.”

And you’re correct, it’s not.

There have been a few manufacturers attempting similar ideas – however the key feature in the new Sensi M system is mobility.

It employs Bluetooth technology to transmit data, it’s super lightweight and compact – to the point where you could mount the system on a guitar and hardly notice the difference in weight. Ultimately the system could be used to alter the tone of a guitar using effects, or trigger backtracks and other musical content – the possibilities are endless.

Like mentioned above, the project is still in prototyping stages, so the makers have been cryptic about the actual specs and features, however they have said that they are developing some other modules, such as faders and more.

If you want to watch the project as it develops further, head over to their website and sign up for the newsletter.
