New RME ADI-2 Pro FSR high-end AD/DA converter
The RME ADI-2 Pro FSR is an all-in-one solution for almost all high-end audio conversion applications.
“The AD1-2 Pro FSR is the centerpiece for any serious studio engineer, Hi-Fi enthusiast or home recorder’s arsenal,” said Derek Badala, Director of Sales Americas at Synthax, distributor of RME. “Not only does it feature a host of devices all in one flexible unit, but it is now available in a sleek black design. Our SteadyClock FS technology rounds out the feature-packed converter providing users with the lowest jitter they can possibly get, giving their mixes and recordings more depth and clarity.”
The RME ADI-2 Pro FSR is designed to replace the previous model which is already an incredibly popular choice for high-end applications like mastering studios. It features analog and digital inputs from most industry-standard protocols – ADAT, AES-3, SPDIF, USB and analog.
The front panel features a high-res screen which displays RME’s highly-renowned spectrum analyser amongst other very helpful visual cues.
Let’s look at some of the tech specs…
The new interface includes RME’s proprietary SteadyClock FS technology which offers the lowest jitter available.
The RME ADI-2 Pro FSR supports sample rates up to an insane 768 kHz with internal clock and 200 kHz with an external. It supports DSD record and playback and additionally, it serves as a double headphone amplifier featuring two extremely powerful headphone outputs.
They’ve also added a remote control system to the already very nifty interface, which makes it a great solution for those discerning Hi-Fi enthusiasts or mastering engineers who may have it packed away in a rack and need more immediate access.
The new ADI-2 Pro FSR has a pretty hefty price-tag, although the range did come down compared to the previous model. It’s retailing for USD $1699 (Around R25k excl. duties).
