REPLIKA XT is a multi-mode delay sporting 5 very specific delay modes including some advanced tweakable options for each.
Native Instruments say it is a ‘tool for all occasions’ as you get digital, analogue and experimental textures to play around with.
It certainly looks inspiring but let us look at what’s under the hood…
5 Different Delays
Inspired by some of the most significant delays in history the REPLIKA XT offers and all-in-one plugin to provide distinctive, high-quality echoes, space, and width.
Modern delay
The Modern delay will give you that typical clean and precise delay with fully controllable repeats.
Vintage Digital
The Vintage delay is modelled on early samplers and digital delays so expect warm, crunchy repeats.
The Analogue delay replicates is all about dark, hazy sounds, the type you’d get from analog bucket-brigade pedals.
Tape
The Tape delay provides replicates some famous tape echo units with the punchy, smooth sound of organic tape.
Diffusion
The Diffusion delay is Native Instruments own take on things – expect ‘swirling reverberant echoes that no physical space can provide.’
Notable Features
The REPLIKA XT has some very tweakable parameters to add some inspiration beyond simply ‘adding delay.’ You can widen your mix, create intricate rhythmic components or simply use it to add a new dynamic to a sound you’ve designed. These are done with features such as the Stereo widener, the pattern controls end the high and low cut filters.
You can also combine the different delay modes on the REPLIKA XT to create unique and classic mixing manoeuvres too.
