The Reloop Spin is the perfect compact turntable for Portablism
Portablism is becoming a thing and the Reloop Spin is the perfect portable turntable to get you started.
What is Portablism?
Portable Turntablism, Portablism is term given to Scratch artists who are taking their skills on the road. It started as a small movement of Scratch DJs and artists DIYing their own portable turntables and mixer systems.
Enter the Reloop Spin, a new compact portable turntable for vinyl lovers and scratch artists – it’s perfect to get started with Portablism as it’s got a built-in crossfader and various other helpful features.
It even comes with a 7” vinyl with specifically curated scratch samples and beats for beginners and experienced turntablists alike, the package also comes with a slipmat and cartridge to get going right out of the box.
The new Reloop Spin features a built-in crossfader and speaker, meaning you don’t need any extra gear to use it.
It’s got a USB port to record your sessions directly to a flash drive and features Bluetooth allowing you to stream backtracks from a mobile device or use alongside the “Spin Duck” looper app.
A closer look at the features…
TheSpin features an anti-skip tonearm specially designed to withstand the rigours of the road, it features a +/-20% pitch fader with 3 selectable motor speeds and for left-handed turntablists, you can customize the placement of the internal crossfader (which uses similar rail glide technology that you see in professional mixers).
It can be powered with optional Li-Ion 18650 batteries, the Reloop Spin has a battery compartment at the bottom which can house 2 batteries. It can also be powered via USB or a powerbank.
There is an aux input allowing you to link up multiple Reloop Spin systems for battles or jam sessions, and each of the systems has dual headphone output which is great for collaborative sessions.
The Spin is set to retail at USD $249,99 (Around R3700 excl. duties), for more information check out the Reloop website here.
