Reason Layers is a virtual collection of sought-after synths
Propellerhead have just released Reason Layers which is a brand new rack extension.
Reason Layers is a Quadrasonic Sample Player which offers one a collection of vintage synths in one single instrument. These instruments are classics from the 80’s and 90’s.
Layers sounds a little like Syntronik from IK Multimedia which features 38 classic synthesizers.
Propellerhead Product Manager, Mats Karlöf, explains; Layers is a new type of Rack Extension instrument that provides great sounding samples from some of the most sought-after synths.
“In addition to the great sounding samples, Layers also offers the flexibility to create and design your own sounds or access an expansive library of patches from expert sound designers.”
Most of the samples for Reason Layers were recorded from the original synths and many of them are the hard ones to find from the analog era; Alesis Andromeda A6, Roland Juno-60, Jupiter-4, Korg Poly-800, Moog Prodigy, Waldorf Microwave and Oberheim Matrix are some of them.
One can load up four separate layers of samples and then add modulation and effects plus there is a built-in step sequencer to trigger your sounds.
Existing users may be wondering why use this when there is the Combinator which comes with Reason but the real key here is that Reason Layers offers one access to instruments not available elsewhere as a single package.
Of course now that Reason supports VST products like Syntronik could be used. The latter costs around € 300 though, whereas Layers is $99.
Limited Offer
Until 30 September Layers can be purchased at a 30% discount for just $69.
Thereafter it will sell for $99.
