Rane DJ reveals new Serato battle mixer and scratch controller

Rane Dj have announced two brand new products and staying true to their target market, both are aimed squarely at turntablists and battle/scratch DJs.

The Rane Twelve is a controller but not as we know it! The new Twelve look like a hybrid turntable but is in fact a DJ controller with a turntable-sized, motorized platter.

The Rane DJ Seventy-Two is a dedicated battle mixer designed to interface seamlessly with the Rane Twelve and Serato DJ.

The Twelve is a midi controller – that means it does NOT play vinyl even though it looks like it should. The 12” vinyl platter is the exact same size as a regular turntable and has a single USB port to connect either to a computer or (preferably) to the Seventy-Two mixer.

Rane DJ Seventy-Two

As you can see from the image and the central screen, the Seventy-Two is designed for Serato DJ with full vertical audio waveforms on display. The screen also acts as an XY pad which can control the mixer’s built-in effects or Serato DJs effects and the Seventy-Two boasts new fader technology and a robust steel frame. The 16 Akai MPC style performance pads are a cinch too.
