Point Blank Performance Masterclass with Richie Hawtin
Point Blank have done a performance masterclass with Richie Hawtin, which is an interesting overview on all the gear he gigs with.
This Performance Masterclass with Richie Hawtin was recorded during his CNTRL tour and sees the techno stalwart take viewers through his current live performance setup.
Hawtin uses Ableton Live and Native Instruments’ Traktor on the software side and on the hardware side he has a Kontrol D2, a couple of Kontrol X1 controllers, a Roland TR-8 and an Ableton Push.

Point Blank is a global music school. You cans study online or at their London or Los Angele branches. The school originated in London as a commercial recording studio in the 90’s during the dance music revolution happening in the UK at the time. Over time Point Blank developed into an electronic music school and is widely regarded as the top global school specifically for dance music.
Students have included Claude Von Stroke, Goldie, Aluna George, Gemma Cairney and Dave Rene among others although Point Blank is quite eager to stress that most students start out as beginners.
Point Blank also has all the necessary accreditations and won a Webby Award for their online courses and all the instructors are UK producers. The course is done in modules which include instructional videos and downloadable project file which culminates in a week-long ‘live’ masterclass session.
Richie Hawtin’s CNTRL tour in the US is a tour of various college campuses where he does tech talks and then off course performs at a designated venue in that city.
