Pioneer Rekordbox DJ new update introduces streaming

The new Pioneer Rekordbox DJ update introduces seamless integration with Beatport LINK and SoundCloud GO+ streaming platforms.

It’s becoming more and more apparent that streaming service integration is the next step in the evolution of digital DJing software, we’re seeing more and more of the big-name DJ software applications introducing the ability to stream tracks directly from the web.

There’s no doubt that a DJs most powerful tool is his music library, and the integration of Beatport LINK and SoundCloud GO+ is invaluable to Rekordbox DJ users. Now you have instant access to millions of tracks available on Beatport LINK or SoundCloud GO+. When using Rekordbox DJ with Beatport LINK Pro or Beatport LINK Pro+ you even have the ability to download the tracks and play them offline.

Another very helpful feature in the new Rekordbox DJ update is the ability to browse the Beatport and SoundCloud charts from directly within your DJ software, download them to play later or stream directly in your performance.

What other features are in the new update?

The new Pioneer Rekordbox DJ update also introduces the “Related Tracks” feature, that gives you helpful suggestions on the next track to play based on information from your current track or mix. There are a couple of downsides – USB Export, Link `Export, Link Monitor, Record, Capture, and loading to the Sampler are not available when playing tracks from Beatport LINK and SoundCloud Go+, however all-in-all it’s a great new integration, especially for newcomer DJs who are still building their music libraries and may need some pointers on the track selection side too.

Pioneer have also announced that their Pioneer Rekordbox DJ compatible hardware will work seamlessly with the new integration of Beatport LINK and SoundCloud Go+ services. Note, you will need an account with either of the streaming platform to get it up and running within Pioneer Rekordbox DJ, the Rekordbox DJ software itself goes for USD $129 (Around R1900 excl. duties), they also have various subscription plans available so check out the Pioneer website for more details.
