Pioneer DJ announce major updates to their KUVO platform
KUVO, first introduced in 2014, is Pioneer DJ’s online social networking platform, integrating all aspects of the dance music scene.
KUVO connects DJs to fans and party-goers to venues, it allows users to discover new music – locally and globally. KUVO even hosts a streaming platform, allowing DJs and clubs to connect directly to their fan-base, anywhere in the world.
When used alongside Pioneer DJ’s Rekordbox DJ software, KUVO allows you to broadcast metadata such as track names, genre and tempo using Rekordbox DJ’s “Live Playlist” feature. KUVO allows you to embed messages in the audio, a great feature for promoting upcoming performances and engaging with your audience. The system also has a built in “reaction” system, giving you critical insight into what your fans like about your performances allowing you to further fine-tune your set.
The new Club Map feature allows party-goers to find events close to their location, or filter events using criteria such as favourite genre. If the event is far away and the booth is KUVO enabled – you’re able to stream music directly from the booth to your device!
How does my venue become “KUVO enabled”?
All you need to connect your venue to the platform is a KUVO account and the NXS-GW, KUVO’s Gateway Hub hardware. For a limited period, they are supplying venues that fit their criteria with the NXS-GW – I hope some venues here in South Africa take advantage of this!
Being KUVO enabled will truly bring your venue’s DJ booth into the social networking age, if the audience is feeling the DJ’s performance, they simply open the app and follow that DJ (and your venue), and if they like the specific track (and the DJ has Live Playlists enabled) the clubber can buy the track from relevant online stores easily via the app. I can see this being a particularly awesome feature for live performers to promote their released material.
