Pioneer DJ HDJ-CUE1 – the lowdown
Pioneer DJ seem to be tapping into the pseudo DJ / lifestyle market with their new HDJ-CUE1 range.
They are equipped with the same drivers from the professional XDJ-X5 model, and are said to be specially tuned to accentuate important low bass and kick drum frequencies for mixing.
This accentuation enables artists to detect specific details in their music and makes for an easier, more comprehensive track selection process.
The Pioneer DJ HDJ-CUE1 wired model comes in a dark silver finish for a high-quality look, while the Bluetooth model comes in a black, white or red matte finish to fit any style.
Both models are designed to be lightweight and fold neatly for a compact fit in an artist’s bag.
The HDJ-CUE1’s swivel mechanism enables artists to turn the ear cups a full 90 degrees.
This allows DJs to easily listen in one ear while the other cup rests on the side or back of the head, or for headphone draping around the neck.
The short, coiled cable on the wired model is lightweight to prevent tangling and easily stretches to allow for free movement during performances.

The HDJ-CUE1 Bluetooth models empower artists to monitor and enjoy their music wirelessly.
Artists pair the headphones with their device and can adjust the volume, or take phone calls, all with the touch of a button on the earcup.
When ready to begin DJing, artists simply connect the included cable to disable Bluetooth, the microphone and volume buttons.
