Pioneer DJ DM-40 – Brand new 4 inch monitors for DJs & Producers
The Pioneer DJ DM-40 is a brand new set of 4 inch loudspeakers aimed squarely at DJs and dance music producers.
Tapping into the laptop generation market of DJ/producers the Pioneer DJ DM-40 are desktop monitors which boast high-quality speaker technology from Pioneer’s pro-audio sub-brand TAD[i] and their S-DJ X Series of pro-DJ monitors.
Features include a front-loaded bass reflex system for tight, punchy bass and soft dome tweeters with DECO[ii] convex diffusers to produce 3D stereo sound dispersion with a wide sweet spot; a feature they say will make the Pioneer DJ DM-40 equally great to listen to when sitting in front of while producing as well as standing in front of when DJing.
Features
Features on the Pioneer DJ DM-40 include a headphone output and volume knob on the front panel to give you flexibility and control, while the RCA and stereo mini jack inputs on the back let you easily connect the speakers to your DJ or production kit.
Technology
The Pioneer DJ DM-40 houses 4-inch fibreglass woofers to bang out a strong, punchy bass from the front, with grooves on the ducts to reduce air friction. This they say will give you tight bass even with the speakers up against a wall.
The Pioneer DJ DM-40 has ¾-inch soft dome tweeters with DECO convex diffusers. These, they say, will channel high frequencies in every direction, thus dispersing a wider sweet spot.
The DM-40’s are active speakers and have class AB aligned to the tweeter and woofer to eliminate crossover and ensure a well-balanced response across the frequencies with minimal distortion.
The Pioneer DJ DM-40 active monitor speakers will be available from June 2016 at an SRP of €169 (per pair), including VAT.
