Pioneer DDJ-800 rekordbox DJ controller announced
Introducing the new Pioneer DDJ-800, a more compact fully-functional two channel Rekordbox DJ controller than the predecessor, the Pioneer DDJ-1000.
Following on from the Pioneer DDJ-1000, Pioneer have just announced their latest Rekordbox DJ controller, a fully-functional two channel controller with a central high-resolution display on each of the jog wheels and the rest of the core features on Pioneer’s flagship Rekordbox DJ controller.
The Pioneer DDJ-800 sees the addition of some new features such as built-in feedback suppression on the microphone channel. The new Pioneer DDJ-800 is also fully functional as a standalone external mixer, and ready-to-go with Pioneer Rekordbox’s DVS platform.
This is not a replacement for the Pioneer DDJ-RR, as they may look similar, the new Pioneer DDJ-800 has a variety of more professional features and dedicated functions. The Pioneer DDJ-800 mimic’s the club-standard layout that you’re likely to see in the DJ booth at a club or festival, so learning and applying techniques across the board will be a bit easier.
Some of the other key features in the new flagship controller…
The new Pioneer DDJ-800 is 22% smaller than the predecessor with most of the same core features, so if you’re looking for a fully-functional flagship Pioneer controller that’s compact and portable – this is the one for you.
The performance pads have pages, so you can assign and recall 16 functions per-deck – from hot-cues and samples to Pad FX. The mixer section also features the Pioneer “Sound Colour FX” that you see on their high-end club mixers.
The Pioneer DDJ-800 features dedicated controls for all of the advanced mixing features you would need, it emulates the club-layout you see on most of the higher-end Pioneer setups, so it’s a great option for practicing at home, and it’s super compact and fully-functional so it’s also a great option for those DJs on-the-go.
The new Pioneer DDJ-800 is set to retail at USD $899 (Around R12600 excl. duties), for more information check out the Pioneer DJ website here.
