Parawave Rapid – A multitimbral synthesis and sampling powerhouse
Parawave Rapid is a relatively new name on the plugin market, set to take on giants like Omnisphere and Avenger.
Parawave Rapid is a lot more than just another Wavetable synthesizer, it’s a modern all-in-one multi-timbral synthesis and sampling powerhouse designed to bring together fast workflow and powerful synthesis techniques.
At first glance, the interface doesn’t seem as complex as the sound engine actually is. The plugin takes a very similar approach to highly-renowned plugins such as Omnisphere and Avenger, if not boasting a sleeker and more intuitive interface.
Rapid features eight layers, each one consisting of enough features to stand up against other professional synth plugins on the market. Each layer features three oscillators, with various modes from Wavetable to Multi-Sampler.
And yes, you can import your own samples and the very intuitive import menu will help you through setting up samples to use for resynthesis or sampling.
The three oscillators run through a filter and a selectable insert effect, which can be set to an additional filter or various other effects. Furthermore, the effects section has seven layers of selectable effects with a ton of different types to choose from.
Bundled with a ton of content…
Parawave Rapid comes bundled with over 600 presets, over 250 wavetable and a ton of one-shot and multi-samples to get you going quickly.
Parawave has also been clever to present an expansion system along with the plugin, allowing users who may not be so well versed in the sound-design a chance to make the most of the plugin. Not very many plugins present such a deep sound engine alongside such a massive array of high-quality preset banks and sound packs.
Parawave Rapid retails for EUR €179.99 (Around R3000), which is very affordable considering the large feature set.
