Numark Scratch returns to their robust scratch mixer roots
Numark first made a name for themselves creating affordable and robust scratch mixers and the new Numark Scratch is just that.
Numark Scratch is the ultimate affordable two-channel Scratch mixer, everything from the build quality to the professional level crossfader and balanced main outputs place it amongst high-end competition.
The new bang-for-your-buck robust scratch mixer combines Numark’s history of creating performance mixers with the MIDI and DVS workflow of modern DJs.
The new two-channel mixer is fitted with the highly sought-after Innofader professional crossfader with various settings for reverse and slope adjustment.
It has an internal multichannel 24-bit USB audio interface for playback or DVS systems.
Each channel has a filter, which is placed to the side of the EQ controls – something that confuses newcomers playing on various different mixers.
That being said, this mixer is aimed at the more professional scratch DJs, offering the traditional layout of the classic “battle” mixers.
The Numark Scratch features balanced XLR main outputs and a booth/zone output, each with dedicated volume control and dual headphone output with both big and small jack connectors, handy in case you lose your adapter at the last minute.
The digital side of things…
The new Scratch is designed in conjunction with Serato DJ Pro, there are dedicated controls for the software’s effects, cue-points, loops and other parameters. It’s compatible with Serato’s DVS system, ready to connect to Serato NoiseMap Control Vinyl or CDs (which are available separately).
The Numark Scratch comes bundles with a full Serato DJ Pro w/ DVS License ($229 value), a Prime Loop Sound Pack to the value of USD $200. All for a retail price of USD $499 (Around R7400 excl. duties).
The package also comes bundled with a 2 month subscription to the SoundSwitch lighting control software.
