Numark announces DJ2GO2 super portable controller
Numark have announced the DJ2GO2 and it is an incredibly portable and cheap little unit.
But perhaps the best thing about the new DJ2GO2 is that it now also has a built-in audio card which the original DJ2GO did not have. The original was cool but you’d still need to have either a DJ splitter cable – which means DJing in mono or a separate sound card to really get the full ‘DJ experience.’
Now with DJGO2 you pretty much need the controller, a laptop and a set of headphones. This little device so portable it literally fits on the front of your laptop.
Features
The DJ2GO2 is designed for use with Serato and the software company says their forthcoming release of both Serato DJ and Serato DJ Intro will support this new unit. It comes packaged with the Intro version too.
Features include 2-deck control, four performance pads, transport controls, pitch sliders, crossfader, headphone cue and library browsing. There are no channel faders but the DJ2GO2 does have a master volume knob and volume trim per channel.
What’s missing is there are no EQs which is both fully understandable considering the size and also a pity because, whilst these are not essential for travelling DJs simply needing a unit to muck about on, it means the DJ2GO2 can’t really be used to fully learn on for newbies or and is not really suitable for gigs – although for little house parties at home would still suffice.
It’s cheap as chips so even just as a ‘nice-to-have’ it won’t break the bank.
Expect to pay: $80 (R 1200)
