Novation Bass Station 2 firmware update makes it better than ever
25 years since the release of the original, Novation Bass Station 2 sees huge additions in the 2.5 update.
The new firmware update for the Novation Bass Station 2 is the biggest yet, it introduces a variety of new features from user requested updates to unique new concepts.
Novation have introduced a new “Oscillator Error” mode, which allows you to fine-tune the amount of instability in the analog oscillators, the result is everything from subtle analog-style nuances to full-blown chaos.
The new Bass Station 2 firmware update also introduces the ability to retrigger the envelope as well as select from a variety of new micro-tuning settings. Novation are also launching the firmware update with a host of new Preset Packs for the Novation Bass Station 2.
Two new features that make the Novation Bass Station 2 better than ever…
Paraphonic Mode
The new Paraphonic Mode on the Bass Station 2 allows you to split the two oscillators between different keys on the keyboard. This opens up a whole new world of sonic possibilities, the full analog synthesizer can now play harmonies and chord sounds. You can also latch the keys while in Paraphonic Mode, allowing you to create long chords and pads and then tweak the settings in real-time.
Filter Tracking
Filter Tracking has been the most requested feature since the original release of the Novation Bass Station 2. Now you have the ability to not only enable key-tracking for the filter cutoff parameter, you can set the amount of tracking that gets applied. This opens the analog filter on the Novation Bass Station 2 up to self-oscillation, essentially adding another oscillator to play with!
Existing Bass Station 2 owners be sure to get the firmware update, it’s free. For those who have been considering getting a Novation Bass Station 2, it is now a feature-packed synth for the price!
