New Avid S1 and S4 touchscreen mixing control surfaces
Avid S1 and S4 control surfaces bring the versatility of the S6 to a more compact and affordable form factor.
The flagship Avid S6 console offers unmatched versatility for professional Pro Tools environments, the system is designed with a modular approach allowing you to add additional modules for extra fader banks, surround sound support and more.
The Avid S6 console is an absolute powerhouse, however the core module is rather large – not ideal for home and project studios.
Enter the new Avid S1 and S4 control surfaces, designed with the same level of versatility as the flagship S6 in different form-factors.
The Avid S1 is the smaller of the two, consisting of eight motorized faders and a dock for an iPad. Using the Pro Tools | Control app, you’re able to get hands-on control over your mix. The idea behind the new Avid S1 is efficiency and versatility and it’s expandable to fit into almost any sized studio.
Create your own ideal mixing console…
The Avid S4 system allows you to create your own ideal mixing console, there are several modules and S4 frames to house them.
The system supports up to 24 faders, a Master Touch Module offering touchscreen control over various parameters in your mix, eight rotary encoders and an array of Soft Keys which you can assign to various functions, and lastly the Master Automation Module which features your transport controls, and various other parameters.
There are also addon modules for extra displays, joystick controllers and much more.
The Avid S1 and S4 are not just for Pro Tools users, in fact both control surfaces work with almost all major DAWs on the market.
Every engineer has their ideal console in mind, and I think it’s great that Avid allows you to build your own to fit your exact workflow and needs.
