Native Instruments releases NKS 2.0, a new world of effect plugins
NKS is Native Instruments’ Native Kontrol Standard, unifying your plugin and sound libraries into a consolidated collection for easy browsing.
The NKS standard also extends the usability and increases workflow by adding a host of very helpful features to your already existing plugin library. You’re able to customize and create your own mappings from scratch to save and recall at any moment, save your own presets and categorize them using the helpful tagging system.
If you’re a Native Instruments Maschine or Komplete Kontrol keyboard owner, the tight integration between hardware and your plugins is unmatched, browse your sound libraries via the screen on your controller, edit and tweak without having to glance at the laptop. Eight of the most common parameters come pre-mapped to your potentiometers, thoughtfully selected by the developers themselves.
The advanced chords and scale settings along with the LED light guide along the top of the keyboard make it a great keyboard for beginners while offering more advanced controls for the professionals like adjusting articulations, key-zones and much more.
What’s new in version 2?
NKS 2.0 opens the world of Native Kontrol to effects plugins! A much-welcomed announcement from the Native Instruments headquarters, as up until this point only instrument plugins benefited from the various features of the NKS standard. This opens your entire plugin library open for easy browsing, categorizing and more.
Native Instruments also announced that they will be adding a host of new NKS partners to the line-up to celebrate their announcement of effect plugin support. Most namely are Waves Audio, Eventide, u-he, Sugar Bytes, Arturia, Softube and iZotope.
“I’m delighted to introduce effects to the creative NKS universe,” says Daniel Haver, Native Instruments CEO. “Both our customers and over 75 leading industry partners value the unrivalled integration of hardware and software NKS provides. Whether a complete newcomer or experienced producer, NKS breaks down the barriers between the ideas in your head and the music coming out of your monitors – it’s incredibly exciting to see this brought to the field of creative processing, too.”
