Native Access to replace NI Service Center?
Native Instruments have announced the new BETA Native Access which looks like it will more than likely replace the NI Service Center app for managing you licenses NI products.
The screen shots show a sleeker, more user friendly app to NI’s Service Center and the tagline they’re using to promote the change is that they want you to spend more time making music and less time managing the products.
Funny ‘cos we never knew people spent endless hours ‘managing their products’ online. There is the standing joke about NI’s Service Center always doing an auto-update every time you logon but other than that, it works pretty well.
Anyhow the newer, fancier Native Access looks pretty cool too.
What Native Access will do
Native Access is intended to be a one stop hub where you can register your products, install software from and check for updates. Sounds like Service Center, doesn’t it?
From what we understand the whole process will be seamless, so if you’re a registered NI user, it sounds like all their products will be available in this one stop hub. If you choose to buy a new product the process to install and start using it, they promise will be a simple one. In other words you won’t have to buy, install and then register. It will all happen in one swift, sleight-of-hand movement.
To be fair lengthy installation processes have long been the bugbear of many producers so maybe Native Instruments are onto something here.
The sales pitch
- The easiest way to get all your music creation tools ready for use
- Download, install, activate, and update all your software from one place
- Spend more time making music and less time managing product
