MOTU Touch Console brings full control to your interface
MOTU Touch Console is a new app for iOS, Android and computers, designed to turn your interface into a console.
While the app works on computers, it’s been optimized for use with a touch display. A large amount of the nifty workflow features have been tuned for use use with devices such as iPads or other tablets, however you still have access to the console-style control that the app offers.
The app introduces a world of new features for MOTU interface owners, from direct control over your interfaces hardware settings like phantom power, pad, phase and gain control of the preamp. This is particularly handy for solo vocalists who make use of a recording booth, now you have access to your controls from your device.
MOTU Touch Console gives you direct control over your interfaces routing matrix, so you can make changes on-the-fly, or change the talkback microphone settings to let your vocalist know they’re doing a good job.
I could see the MOTU Touch Console being introduced seamlessly into a live engineers workflow, the advanced control over the built-in effects, along with the scalability of the interface truly turns your MOTU interface into a fully-fledged mixing console.
Let’s talk about the integrated effects…
MOTU owners probably already know about the built-in effects in their interface, however now they have in-depth control over the effects through the MOTU Touch Console app.
The equalizer section is fully featured, you have the ability to tune in the exact frequency via faders, or you can swipe your finger across the display to get a much quicker workflow going. Almost every aspect is resizable to fit any device and application.
Each channel has an advanced dynamics section, offering gate and compression each with their own host of settings. Effects can be loaded as aux sends, and have the ability to be routed either pre or post your line faders.
